Underage Cannabis Use: Trends, Risks, and Strategies for Prevention Efforts
The 2019 CPI regional trainings provide a learning forum on cannabis trends, risks, and prevention strategies. These trainings are offered in the post-legalization context in which communities are struggling to adapt, implement, and assess effective youth prevention interventions. This interactive, one-day training will introduce prevention professionals to local, community-based prevention strategies; engage participants in peer-learning; and offer opportunities to share successes and challenges.
Training Goals
- Provide information on current trends and challenges related to underage cannabis use and discuss best ways to address them.
- Understand how underage cannabis use can be decreased by addressing local risk and protective factors.
- Identify and discuss existing regional and statewide prevention resources and tools available to address cannabis use.
Audience
County Prevention Coordinators, County department staff, contracted SUD Pv providers, community-based organizations, regional prevention coalitions, and other local collaborators.
