What is the Community Prevention Initiative?

The California Department of Alcohol and Drug Programs (ADP) is pleased to announce the award of the Community Prevention Initiative (CPI). A project funded and directed by the California Department of Alcohol and Drug Programs (ADP).

This Technical Assistance and Training project is intended to serve California agencies and organizations involved in community-based prevention. Specifically, the purpose of Community Prevention Initiative , as outlined by ADP is “to reduce and manage community-level risks and problems directly attributable to and/or collaterally resulting from ATOD availability, manufacture, distribution, promotion, sale and/or use.”

In this system, CPI is to provide training and technical assistance supportive of community planning and prevention services that typically assume a broad community perspective.
