CPI Project Goals

The Community Prevention Initiative (CPI) is funded and directed by the California Department of Alcohol and Drug Programs (ADP).

The goals of the CPI are to:

  • Bridge the gap between research and the practical needs of community Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) prevention practitioners.
     

  • Establish a system to transfer research-based AOD prevention information to the field.
     

  • Increase the number of effective community prevention practitioners.
     

  • Increase the number of effective community prevention systems progress and services.
     

  • Enhance the health and safety of communities throughout California.

This is to be accomplished through the delivery of up to 2,000 days of technical assistance services and 80 training events.
