The California Department of Alcohol and Drug Programs: Getting Help and Treatment. Methamphetamine is now the most commonly reported primary drug of abuse in California's publicly funded treatment system. Nationwide, Californians make up 40% of all methamphetamine treatment admissions. Most importantly what is known is that treatment does work for methamphetamine addicts and everyday researchers are discovering new effective treatment methods.
