ABHPC provides no-cost technical assistance and training for behavioral health prevention in California.
The California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) contracts with the Center for Applied Research Solutions (CARS), by providing funding for the Advance Behavioral Health Prevention California (ABHPC) to provide Technical Assistance and Training (TTA) services to primary prevention providers at no-cost.

Education Access and Quality – Evidence-Based Practices and School-Based Services
March 28, 2024, 10:00 – 11:30 a.m. PT
This roundtable discussion will address Healthy People 2030’s goals for education access and quality and existing evidence-based resources. Participants will have the opportunity to interact with one another and troubleshoot concerns.
Brief Intervention (BI) for Substance Using Adolescents: Professional Competency Training
April 2 – 3, 2024, 8:30am – 12:00 p.m. PT
This training aims to build the skills of counselors working with adolescents. Brief intervention is a short-term counseling intervention that consists of two to four sessions aimed at adolescents who use alcohol and/or other drugs.
Neighborhood and Built Environment – Prevention Best Practices in the Community Domain

ABHPC Roundtables: Centering the Social Drivers of Health in Behavioral Health Prevention. This roundtable will address how to increase health and safety into our neighborhoods and environment structures.
